PRIVACY
Your crosshairs stay on your machine.
Crosshair Shooter X is offline-first. Your designs, settings, profiles and practice results live on your own computer and are not uploaded anywhere unless you take a specific action that sends them.

What stays on your device
The Windows app keeps the following in local application storage. None of it is transmitted on its own, and removing the application’s data clears all of it.
- Your crosshair library, and which design is equipped
- Settings — appearance, overlay position and size, display mode, language, keybindings
- Game profiles, including the executable names you choose to match
- Focus Lab and sensitivity results, and local session statistics
What is sent, and only when
| What | When | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Your library, settings, equipped design and profiles | Only if you are signed in to Steam with Steam Cloud enabled for this product. Restoring a cloud copy is always a choice you confirm. | Steam Cloud (Valve) |
| A completed run’s score, with your Steam ID, Steam display name and Steam avatar | Only for eligible completed runs, and only while score sharing is switched on. You can turn it off. | www.shooterx.pro |
| A crosshair design you choose to share, with your Steam display name and avatar | Only when you press Publish. Publishing requires a verified Steam sign-in. | www.shooterx.pro |
www.shooterx.pro is the only outside host the app contacts. Your Steam display name and avatar are already public on your Steam profile; they are shown so the community browser and the leaderboard have an author and a rank rather than an anonymous entry.
The Game Bar widget makes no network connections
The companion Xbox Game Bar widget has no network code at all. It talks to the app on the same machine through a local named pipe and renders a page that ships inside its own package. It collects nothing, sends nothing and contacts no server. The only file it writes is a diagnostic log inside its own app-data folder, which never leaves your computer unless you choose to send it to us.
What we do not do
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers.
- No analytics or telemetry. The app does not report how you use it.
- No third-party trackers, and no fonts or scripts loaded from third-party networks.
- No selling, renting or trading of personal information.
- No reading of your files, your screen, or anything unrelated to drawing a crosshair.
Input monitoring
There is an optional React to firing setting that lets the crosshair animate when you shoot. With it on, the app observes mouse button state so it knows a shot happened. Nothing is recorded, stored or transmitted — it drives an animation in the moment, and the setting can be switched off at any time.
This website
The site is served from our own server and does not embed third-party analytics or advertising. Signing in with Steam is optional and is only needed to publish a design or appear on the leaderboard; it uses Steam’s own OpenID sign-in, so your Steam password is never seen by us.
Children
Crosshair Shooter X is a utility for PC gaming and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices
- Stop sharing scores — switch score sharing off in Settings and nothing further is sent.
- Steam Cloud — disable it for this product in Steam and your data stays local.
- Remove something you published — contact us and we will delete it.
- Delete your leaderboard entries — contact us with your Steam ID and we will remove them.
- Erase everything locally — clear the application’s data. Export share codes first for anything you want to keep.
Retention
Published crosshairs and leaderboard entries are kept until you or we remove them. Local data is kept until you delete it. We do not retain copies of data you have asked us to remove.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected or sent, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
